The People Like Me (PLM) Academy is a registered and accredited Social Enterprise helping young people 'up-skill' within the digital tech space.
We are on an ambitious mission to connect 20,020 young people with digital tech opportunities and training by the end of 2020.
For many 18 - 30 year olds across the UK, there is a desire or feeling of missing out with digital tech skills.
We believe that no young person should fall into a digital poverty where they are unable to access the means to learn new digital skills irrespective of their environment.
Our approach is community driven and socially led, particularly drawn to those in society who may get left behind. Our delivery is ensuring that we are able to provide support, training and mentorship for young people across the UK.
We would love to see you join us!
The People Like Me Academy was created out of a number of frustrations.
As a recent 'adulting' graduate, André felt that there was no one who looked like him in the creative industry who was still reachable and willing to give their time.
On top of this, despite having digital marketing experience through university and internships at some of the biggest brands in the world, there was still a struggle to find a steady entry level role.
From this, there was a belief that there were other young people who struggled to either make connections as well as being unable to enter the digital tech space because of the lack of a track record.
The PLM Academy provides the opportunity to learn the theory whilst gaining experience, and connecting young people with mentors and facilitators who want to see them win!
We truly believe in making digital tech skills accessible to young people, to help them discover opportunities which may not have been open to.
