In particular, we process personal data solely for lawful purposes, either in connection with a contract we have with you, subject to your consent, or on another permitted basis.  We only process the minimum amount of personal data that is required for the relevant processing purpose, and we limit our processing to specific limited purposes necessary to conduct our activities.  We only store your personal data as long as it is necessary for the purpose of the specific processing activity it was collected for, or for any longer period of time that we may be obligated by law to retain it.

The People Like Me Academy is a company incorporated in England with company number 11391938. Our registered office is Kemp House, 152 - 160 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. Via our site at https://www.plmacademy.org.uk (our site), The PLM Academy (Part of The People Like Me Group) provides services to facilitate the education of digital tech skills, provide a service for creative solutions and facilitate the hiring of staff (our services). This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data (meaning information about an individual from which that individual can be personally identified) we collect from you, or that you, or others, provide to us, will be processed by us. For the purpose of data protection laws, the data controller is The People Like Me Group. 
 
This privacy policy applies to personal data of our website users, candidates, clients, suppliers and any other person who may access our website.

We also obtain personal information from other sources as follows:
Third parties, including other recruitment agencies, online recruitment boards and professional networking sites, including LinkedIn.
 
3) We use your personal information to:
Provide you with our recruitment services and to facilitate the recruitment process;
Assessing data about you against vacancies which we think may be suitable for you;
Sending your information to our clients, where we think you are suitable for a vacant job role or in order for our client to assess your eligibility;
Processing your personal information  in order to provide you with relevant marketing materials which we think may be of interest to you;
To carry out any obligations arising from any contract(s) we have entered into with you;
Verifying details or requesting additional details in relation to references, qualifications, criminal convictions and health related matters (where applicable);
4) Who we share your personal information with
The PLM Group will not sell, rent or lease your personal data to others. The PLM Group will not share your personal data with third parties except in line with permitted uses, or as specifically consented to by you. The PLM Group shares customer information across PLM Group-owned business entities and companies working on our behalf, but only as described in this Privacy Policy.
 
Circumstances may arise where, whether for strategic or other business reasons, The PLM Group decides to sell, buy, merge or otherwise reorganize businesses in some countries. Such a transaction may involve the disclosure of personal data to prospective or actual purchasers or receiving it from sellers. It is The PLM Group’s practice to seek appropriate protection for information, including personal data, in these types of transactions.
 
The PLM Group may share your personal data with third parties acting on behalf of The PLM Group, which may be located in other jurisdictions. We ensure that such transfers are lawful, including by ensuring that they are to jurisdictions that are considered to have equivalent privacy protections, and/or ensuring that the third parties to whom we transfer your personal data are under contract to The PLM Group and bound by appropriate data protection clauses or other approved safeguards, as applicable in each situation. 
 
Where appropriate, we may share your personal data, in various ways and for various reasons, with the following categories of people:
Individuals and organisations who hold information related to your reference or application to work with us, including current, past or prospective  employers, education providers, examining bodies/associations, and other employment and recruitment agencies;
Where you are a candidate, potential employers and other recruitment organisations;
Governmental authorities including HMRC and law enforcement  where we believe that law or regulation require use to share this data;
Third party service providers who perform or facilitate tasks on our behalf, including professional advisers (such as accountants or solicitors), criminal conviction check services, technical and IT support and consultants; and
Marketing agencies.
This data sharing enables us to provide our recruitment services to you and increases your chances of finding talent and/or new opportunities.
 
We will not share your personal information with any other third party.
5) Reasons we can collect and use your personal information
We rely on the following lawful bases on which we collect and use your personal data:
Contractual basis: the use of your personal data is necessary for us to perform our obligations to you under the contract  we have in place with you (where applicable);
Legal compliance basis: the use of your personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject i.e. HMRC and tax duties;
Consent basis: the use of your sensitive personal data (where applicable) is authorised by you providing consent to us; or
Our Legitimate interests basis: we can use your personal data where it is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights or freedoms of you. Typically we will rely on the legitimate interests basis when: (a) interacting with current or potential clients (where we do not have an existing contractual basis) but we wish to provide them with speculative CVs; or (b) direct marketing to our website users, candidates and/or clients.
6) Your rights
You have certain specific rights with respect to how we process your data.  The PLM Group is committed to ensuring that your rights are protected.  The GDPR sets out the following rights applicable to data subjects:
 
a) The right to be informed – We have provided this Privacy Policy to provide you with concise, transparent, intelligible and easily accessible information about how we use your personal data, including specific information depending on whether or not we have obtained your personal data directly from you. 
 
b) The right of access – You have right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you are being processed, and, where that is the case, access to the personal data and the following information:

	(b) the categories of personal data concerned; 
	(c) the recipients or categories of recipient to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed, in particular recipients in third countries or international organisations;

	(a) the personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed; 
	(b) you withdraw your consent on which the processing is based and there is no other legal ground for the processing; 
	(c) you object to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing, or you objected to the processing in respect to direct marketing;

	(e) the personal data have to be erased for compliance with a legal obligation in EU or member country law to which our organisation is subject; or
 
 
e) Right to lodge a complaint with your data protection supervisory authority - In the event you believe that we are processing your personal data otherwise than in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority located in the EU jurisdiction where you reside.  For the UK, the supervisory authority is the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. 
 
7) Links to other websites
 
The website may provide links to third-party companies’ websites for your convenience and information. If you access those links, you will leave the our website. The PLM Group does not control those sites, their content or their privacy practices, which may differ. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. The personal data you choose to give to unrelated third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company before submitting your personal data. 
 
Some third-party companies may choose to share their personal data with The PLM Group; that sharing is governed by that third-party company's privacy policy. 
 
8) Children's privacy
The PLM Group is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's online activities and interests. The PLM Group does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 16 and The PLM Group does not target its Website or any of its services to children under the age of 16. 
 
9) Keeping your personal information secure
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
 
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
